Privacy policy

PublishMyBlog belongs to Saeed Shahriar, its editor, based in Bali, Indonesia. He is responsible for the personal data described here. We keep as little about you as we can, and this page lists all of it.
What we collect
Your email, if you subscribe to the newsletter. We store your address, the page you signed up on and when you confirmed. Signing up is double opt-in: nothing is saved until you press the button in the confirmation email.
Emails you send us. They stay in our inbox so we can reply.
Visit statistics. Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, records which pages you view, how you got here, your rough location, your device and browser, and actions like scrolling or clicking a link to another site. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to tell one visit from another. It doesn’t tell us who you are, and Google Analytics doesn’t store IP addresses.
Nothing else. There are no advertising trackers on this site. Your light or dark theme choice and your cookie choice are saved in your own browser and never sent to us. Site search runs in your browser; what you type isn’t sent to us.
Cookies and your consent
If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics cookies stay off until you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set. We use Google Consent Mode, so Google is told your choice before anything loads.
Visitors from other countries are counted by default.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Why we use it
To send you the newsletter you asked for, about once a week. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To see which stories get read, so we know what to cover next and what to fix.
The legal basis is your consent for the newsletter and, in the EU, UK and Switzerland, for analytics cookies; and our legitimate interest in replying to emails you send us and, elsewhere, in knowing how the site is used. We never sell your details or share them for advertising.
Who else handles it
Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails. See Brevo’s privacy policy.
Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any host, it sees your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks, and works out your country so we know whether to show the cookie banner. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Google runs Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and processes the visit statistics for us. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
How long we keep it
Your email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. An address that never confirms is never stored.
Visit statistics: Google Analytics deletes visit-level data after the retention period set in our account (2 months by default). The _ga cookie lasts up to 2 years unless you clear it or withdraw consent.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, delete it or withdraw your consent at any time. Email us and we’ll do it within 30 days.
To keep out of the visit statistics anywhere, choose Reject in Cookie settings, block cookies for this site in your browser, or install Google’s opt-out add-on.
If you think we’ve handled your data badly, you can complain to your data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK or your national authority in the EU.
